Newark MillsFriends of Beckman Mill, Inc. (FBM) was formed in 1990 by a small group of mill-area residents and members of the Beckman family. It is a 501 c3 not-for-profit organization and has the following as its mission statement: "Friends of Beckman Mill is dedicated to the preservation of our rural heritage through the authentic restoration of the Beckman Mill as a functioning water-powered grist mill within its historical setting."

An organization of volunteers, Friends of Beckman Mill, Inc. maintains a membership of nearly 500 and is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Historical Society. It is governed by an 8-member Board of Directors whose meetings are held on odd-numbered months. General meetings of the membership are held on even-numbered months except there is no meeting in December.

FBM workers have completed the restoration of the mill and now operate it for demonstration purposes weekends from May through October. The mill is located in Rock County’s Beckman Mill Park 6 miles west of Beloit, Wisconsin.

In addition to the mill’s restoration, the group has also constructed and/or assisted with the development of several other attractions within the 50-acre park including:

Friends of Beckman Mill membership is open to all and includes free admission to the mill, a membership card and a subscription to the quarterly 24-page Beckman Mill News. Beckman Mill News
