The Mill is open for tours every Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. May thru October.
Grinding will be on the first Saturday of every month and on special events.

Ice cream and cake, and root beer floats will be served in the shelter with John Sheehan playing his concertina. Artists will be painting in different areas throughout the park for you to observe and ask questions. There will several special activities for kids to express their artistic talent. At 2:30 guests will be invited to crank the handle to make homemade ice cream. Corn will be ground by the original 1858 turbine and water power. The museum and gift shop will be open also. There is no charge for the activities or treats, but donations are appreciated so that the Friends group can continue to keep history alive! Call 608-751-1551 for more info.
Learn about historic trades by the demonstrators such as broom making, blacksmithing, wood carvers, basket weavers, and others. Lots of music to be heard: concertina music from 11-1, violin music from noon -2, sing-a-long music from 1-3, and banjo playing. The grinding process will begin at noon at the mill and continue throughout the day. The museum and gift shop will be open. Special activities for kids include butter making, digging for potatoes, blacksmithing and corn shelling. Horse drawn wagon rides, interacting with a Civil War soldier and doctor, WWII and Viet Nam living history displays, collector show cars are other attractions. Bacon cheddar brats and ¼ pound all beef hot dogs, chips, pop, water, and pies and desserts will be sold. There is no admission charge, but donations are appreciated to help the Friends of Beckman Mill to continue their 30 year endeavor to maintain the buildings and educate about bygone times.
